FAQ
Straight answers to the hard questions
The questions suppliers ask most often, answered plainly, including the ones about what we deliberately do not do.
Common questions
Clear on scope
If a question is not answered here, the what we do and do not do page and the security and compliance page go further. For anything else, just ask.
Can you get us MOD contracts?
No. We do not guarantee contracts and we have no influence over procurement decisions. What we do is build a credible commercial route: the right accounts, the right people, sharp positioning and qualified conversations. Winning work still depends on your capability, fit and timing.
Do you guarantee meetings or opportunities?
No. We commit to disciplined, well-targeted execution and transparent weekly reporting, not to a number of meetings or opportunities. Credible defence relationships are built on fit and timing, not quotas, and we would rather be honest about that than promise volume we cannot control.
Do you write bids?
Not the formal written response. We support the commercial side: qualification, stakeholder mapping and proposal positioning. Where a live tender needs formal bid writing, we coordinate a specialist defence bid partner rather than overclaiming that capability ourselves.
Do you provide compliance advice?
No. We do not provide procurement, tender-compliance, legal or export-control advice. Where compliance becomes relevant to a pursuit, we introduce appropriately qualified specialist partners and keep our own role to the commercial route to market.
Do you provide JOSCAR, CMMC or Secure by Design support?
No. We do not deliver accreditation, supplier assurance or security-readiness work. We can explain where JOSCAR, CMMC or Secure by Design tends to become relevant for the buyers you are targeting, and introduce specialist partners who handle it.
Do you contact MOD officials?
Our outreach focuses on the commercial supply chain: primes, tier-one suppliers, partners and defence-adjacent buyers, using publicly available and client-approved information. We do not broker access to MOD officials or claim influence over them. Most SME value is won through the supply chain, not direct approaches.
Do you work with companies already active in defence?
Yes. Some clients are new to defence and some already sell into it but lack a structured, managed pipeline. For established suppliers we tend to focus on prioritisation, named-account expansion and a disciplined cadence, rather than starting from scratch.
How long does market access take?
Defence relationships take time. A Route-to-Market Audit delivers a plan in around ten working days, while programmes run on a three-month minimum so the pipeline has room to build. We report weekly, so momentum and progress are visible from the start.
What information do you need?
Publicly available and client-approved commercial information: your capability, proof assets, references, target markets and any existing traction. We do not need classified or restricted material to deliver the standard service, and we will tell you if an engagement would ever require it.
Do you work outside the UK?
Our focus is the UK defence and defence-adjacent market. We can plan outreach around international defence events and allied markets where your buyers concentrate, but UK routes to market are our core, and we are clear about where our knowledge is deepest.
How are partner referrals handled?
Reciprocal by default, with any fee documented in writing and disclosed to you. Where a fee would depend on a public-sector outcome, it goes to legal review first, mindful of the Bribery Act 2010. We name partners only where a real relationship and permission exist.
What is the difference between market access and supplier readiness?
Market access is the commercial route: which accounts matter, who to reach, how to position and how to open qualified conversations. Supplier readiness is the assurance, accreditation and governance a buyer checks before engaging. We do the first and introduce specialists for the second.
